Parent Support

At Silver Creek, we believe that parents are our partners in providing a quality early child development program to children. The parent support program aims to empower and enable parents and families to do their best to support their child.

Our family-centred programming therefore welcomes parents in our processes and provides them with information about what is happening at the school and in the community. We offer a welcoming and dedicated space in the Parent Room, where parents can gather, relax and chat with other parents; find information on community resources and supports; and obtain assistance to find appropriate supports, to complete application forms and to address individual personal/family matters if requested. We offer weekly facilitated drop-in sessions where parents can learn from each other, as well as several parent evenings throughout the year to address educational matters such as self-care, family connections, signed English and transition to school.

Based on the positive impact of Silver Creek’s family-centred parent support program, we have recently expanded it to make some supports available to the broader community.
