Listen to the first episode of The EmpowerLab Family Podcast — hear real stories from families in our community.

Family Leadership, Connection, and Growth

At Silver Creek, we believe families are not just partners, they are leaders, advocates, and co-creators in their child’s journey.

Our Parent Support program has evolved into the EmpowerLab: a dynamic, community-driven model where families build skills, share knowledge, and support one another through meaningful connection and collaboration.

A Community Built With Families, Not Just For Them

The EmpowerLab moves beyond traditional parent support. It is a space where families:

  • Connect with others who share similar experiences
  • Build confidence in navigating systems and advocating for their children
  • Learn practical strategies to support development at home
  • Contribute their voices, ideas, and leadership to shape programming

Families are not passive participants, they are active contributors, mentors, and leaders within a growing, supportive network.

Our Continuum of Support

Our programming is designed as a continuum of engagement, supporting families from initial connection to leadership:

Together We Thrive (Drop-In Circles)

Welcoming, facilitated sessions where families share experiences, build relationships, and find support in a safe and inclusive environment.

Insight Summit (Workshops & Webinars)

Interactive learning opportunities focused on topics such as advocacy, parenting strategies, system navigation, and well-being—often co-led by parents and community partners.

Integrated Learning

Collaborative workshops with our early learning and therapy teams (Early Learning, Speech & Language, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Music Therapy) that provide hands-on strategies families can use in everyday life, strengthening home–school connections.

Peer Mentorship & Parent Leadership

Families support one another through shared experience, mentorship, and leadership opportunities, facilitating sessions, leading initiatives, and helping guide program direction.

Launching May 8th:

A Connected Network of Support

The EmpowerLab works in partnership with organizations across education, health, and community services to ensure families have access to the resources they need. Through these partnerships, families gain support with:

  • System navigation and applications (e.g., funding, respite, school transitions)
  • Accessing community services and developmental supports
  • Building connections beyond the school environment

A Space to Connect & Recharge

At the heart of the program is our dedicated EmpowerLab Hub—a welcoming parent space designed to support both practical needs and well-being. A space families can:

  • Gather and connect with others
  • Access disability-specific resources, information, and guidance
  • Receive individualized support when needed
  • Take a moment to pause, reflect, and recharge

Growing Together

Over time, the EmpowerLab has grown into a sustainable, peer-supported community where families:

  • Develop confidence and advocacy skills
  • Build lasting relationships and networks
  • Take on leadership roles within the program
  • Contribute to initiatives like the EmpowerLab Family Podcast, amplifying the voices and lived experiences of parents raising children with disabilities.
